If you hear some loud sounds in Diamond Valley today (Tuesday, Jan. 21), don’t be alarmed.
Diamond Valley Fire Rescue announced it will be conducting sound mapping of all the equipment in Station 3 (former Black Diamond).
Testing will start around 11 a.m. and will include vehicle sirens and air horns.
“We apologize for the noise but testing should only last one to two hours with the loudest of noise occurring for less than 20 minutes,” reads a Facebook post.
The sound mapping is being conducted by Occupational Health and Safety staff to determine the decibel level of all the different types of noises that firefighters are exposed to during their work. It allows for proper hearing protection to be identified to protect firefighters' hearing.
