The Town of Diamond Valley expects a water main break to be fixed by evening on Oct. 10 and said water pressure has been restored to most of the community.

Water has been restored for most of Black Diamond after a water main break saw service disrupted Thursday.

The break occurred around mid-morning on Oct. 10, and in an afternoon update, the Town of Diamond Valley said repairs should be completed this evening.

The break happened near Government Road, north of Centre Street, and the Town said some addresses in the area remain without water.

The Town said the break is in older infrastructure and is not related to recent construction one block north.

As crews worked to fix the break, Mayor Barry Crane said that leaking sections of pipe were recently repaired or replaced in other areas, causing water pressure to rise and potentially cause breaks in weaker sections of pipe.
