CARSTAR Airdrie and CARSTAR Okotoks hosted their annual “Soaps It Up” car wash on Saturday, July 23 at their respective facilities, raising $1,782.55 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
The event took place during Shine Season, where CARSTAR facilities support fundraising efforts to raise money for cystic fibrosis.
CARSTAR Airdrie, owned by Mark Kharfan, and CARSTAR Okotoks, owned by Mark Kharfan and Brian Grover, are members of the MK Auto Group, which is made up of nine CARSTAR locations in the Calgary area.
The MK Auto Group has been actively raising money year after year for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, with this year being no exception.
“Having supported cystic fibrosis for many years, it has been incredibly rewarding to watch my team embrace this cause,” said Kharfan. “Additionally, we wouldn’t be able to give back as much as we have without the support of our community. Every year, residents come out and attend our fundraising initiatives to help us provide research, advocacy and care for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.”
This year, the team washed cars for a minimum donation of $5, all going to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Canada. In addition to the car wash, with the help of Enterprise Okotoks, they served hamburgers and hotdogs to the attendees, welcomed local radio stations, and the local fire department came to the CARSTAR Okotoks car wash.
CARSTAR is North America’s largest franchise network of independently owned and operated collision repair facilities with more than 700 locations in 35 U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces.
