Looking for some music to get you in the holiday spirit? Well, there are a number of concerts in Okotoks and area over the next few weeks that should do the trick.
Heebee-jeebees Christmas!
Wednesday, Nov. 27, 7:30 p.m., Old Church Theatre
The Heebee-jeebees are a Canadian comic a cappella quartet with a reputation for being hilarious, entertaining and extremely talented. With five Christmas albums of comical and witty material, their renditions of Christmas classics and their originals are legendary.

High River Gift of Music
Sunday, Dec. 1, 3 p.m., High River United Church
The Blue Dawn Quartet will fill the darkness of December with a radiant program of carols and Christmas classics celebrating the spirit of the season. Montreal-based artists Kimberley Lynch, Meagan Zantingh, Alexandra Asher and Rona Nadler are known for emotionally stirring a cappella performances that transcend time and genre.

Christmas with The Travelling Mabels
Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m., United Church in the Valley, Diamond Valley
The Travelling Mabels are taking their Christmas show on tour with performances throughout Alberta. During the show, which promises an evening of music, laughter and fun, the Mabels will put their spin on some well-known classics as well as a few original Christmas tunes.

Foothills Brass Christmas
Wednesday, Dec. 4, 7:30 p.m., Old Church Theatre
Founded in 1981 in Calgary, Foothills Brass is a group of five versatile musicians from across Canada. Their repertoire ranges from Renaissance to ragtime, Bach to the Beatles, with a healthy dose of jazz, Dixieland, blues and even country classics. Special opening guest performer will be Wilson Hicke, a 19-year-old aspiring jazz artist from Okotoks.

Foothills Philharmonic Society
Saturday, Dec. 7, 3 p.m., Okotoks Alliance Church
Christmas by the Fire, the Junior Singers’ first Christmas concert, will feature classic tunes like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Carol of the Bells as well as modern works like Winter Sleigh Ride and The Snowy Day. There will also be a special guest performance by the Wild Rose Youth Strings ensembles.
Tickets are $10 (kids 12 and under free) and available through foothillsphilharmonic.com/concerts.
Soul Food 2024
Tuesday, Dec. 10 and Wednesday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m., Okotoks Evangelical Free Church
The annual Okotoks Food Bank Christmas Concert will feature two evenings of acoustic holiday music. There will be performances by The Charms with Denis Dufresne and Megan Ann Konschuh, Calum Graham, 33 Union with Mike Martel and Shaun Cardinal, Mike King, Brettyn Rose & Chase Morgan, Dwight Forseth & Jim McLennan, MzBehavin', Pat Hanley and more.

Foothills Philharmonic Society
Friday, Dec. 13, 7 p.m., High River United Church and Saturday, Dec. 14, 7 p.m., Okotoks Alliance Church
The Foothills Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus present Home for Christmas, a beautiful evening of seasonal favourites with music from classic movies such as Home Alone and The Polar Express as well as timeless holiday standards like Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, and free for kids 12 and under, and available through foothillsphilharmonic.com/concerts.
Big Rock Singers
Saturday, Dec. 14, 2 and 6 p.m., Viking Rentals Centre
Santa Claus is Coming to Town, the Big Rock Singers’ annual holiday show, is being billed as a family Christmas extravaganza with special guests Okotoks Youth Singers, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and the whole North Pole gang.
Free family activities, including crafts, games, face painting, horse-drawn wagon rides, photos with Santa and visit with the cast of Frozen, take place one hour prior to the shows. There will also be a bake sale, cafe and 50/50 draw. A portion of show proceeds donated to Western Wheel Cares.
Tickets are $40 for adults, $30 for seniors, $10 for youth and $5 for children. They’re available at Showpass.
