Louisiana Hayride’s Christmas show coming to Okotoks

Filled with holiday favourites, show will be performed at the Viking Rentals Centre on Thursday, Nov. 28.

The Louisiana Hayride Show is bringing a Christmas-themed production to Okotoks later this month as part of a Western Canadian tour.

The show will be performed at the Viking Rentals Centre on Thursday, Nov. 28 as a cast of tribute artists takes the audience on a musical ride back in time.

Artists will pay tribute to Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison, Crystal Gayle, Buddy Holly, Shania Twain, Lefty Frizzell and more with songs like Ring of Fire, Crazy, Hound Dog, That’ll Be the Day and Pretty Woman.

They’ll also be singing their favourite Christmas songs such as Blue Christmas, Let It Snow, Pretty Paper, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Silent Night, Run Rudolph Run and White Christmas.

Andrea Anderson will sing her versions of Oh Holy Night and How Great Thou Art, while William Brookfield and Gil Risling will combine for Away in a Manger and Hark the Herald Angels.

There will be fun songs too like Jingle Bell Rock and Santa Baby.

Woven throughout the songs will be tidbits of information, with a Christmas twist, presented by host, and creator of the show, Lori Risling.

The Louisiana Hayride Show has been performing across Western Canada for the past 14 years, bringing the iconic 1950s radio show from Shreveport, Louisiana to life.
