Canada has come together to help a lobster hitchhike back home.

The initiative, called Lobster Quest, follows a stuffed lobster named Lucky as he navigates the country on his way back to Okotoks.

"We are calling all Canadians to help us hitchhike [Lucky] across the country to [Okotoks]," said Chris McCallum, one of the campaign's organizers.

The lobster started his journey in Charlottetown and is making his way back home, having so far made stops in every province between the Maritimes and Alberta.

"We tried it in 2009 and it didn't work," added McCallum, noting that the stuffed crustacean had previously made it as far as Ontario.

They're certainly making better progress this year, with Lucky currently hanging out in Saskatchewan as he makes his way west, with stops in the province including the University of Regina campus and the town of Indian Head.

Upon his return, Lucky is set to be shown off throughout Okotoks and the surrounding area.

His previous adventures include tours of Thunder Bay, Ont., Mississauga, Ont., Winnipeg and many more spots throughout the country.
