Most of Okotoks’ outdoor skating venues, including two of the most popular, are now open.

Of the 13 rinks spread throughout town, nine are open as of Dec. 30, including the skating trail at Lions Campground and the boarded rink at St. John Paul II Collegiate.

Other rinks now open include Ardiel Park, Cimarron Park, D’Arcy Ranch, Drake Landing Gardens Park, Henderson Park, Hunters Glen and Suntree Park.

The Kinsmen rink at the Okotoks Recreation Centre is marked as ‘in progress’ on the Town’s website, while Cedar Grove Park, Sheep River Cove and Westridge Close Park remain closed.

The weather forecast looks favourable for outdoor skating as Environment Canada is calling for below seasonal temperatures throughout the week in Okotoks.
