High indoor carbon monoxide levels sent two Foothills County residents to hospital this morning.
Paramedics were alerted to a carbon monoxide detector going off in a house in the 4400-block of Dunbow Road East at about 8:20 a.m. on Sept. 19.
An alarm woke the residents, who were outside of the house when emergency crews arrived.
Both residents, two adults, were taken to Foothills Hospital in stable condition for carbon monoxide exposure, EMS said.
The Foothills Fire Department said carbon monoxide readings at the front door of the house were high enough that firefighters needed breathing equipment to safely enter the home.
Carbon monoxide readings were nearly three times higher in the master bedroom, the fire department said.
The fire department did not know what caused the high gas readings.
ATCO also attended the scene.
Foothills Fire Department reminds residents that if smoke detectors or alarms go off, leave the building and call 911.
