Pollinator River Walk — A Green Living workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meet at the Environmental Education Centre for an interactive walk along the Sheep River to learn more about pollinators and their local habitat from a pollinator professor from Mount Royal University. okotoks.ca  

  
A Memory Cafe will be held on the fourth Friday of the month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Griffiths Centre in Diamond Valley. It’s an opportunity for people with memory loss and their caregivers to meet for mutual support. Call 403-969-6040 for details.    

    
Nooks and Crannies Festival: Adult Tour will be held on Friday, July 28 from 6 to 7 p.m. The Nooks & Crannies Festival of Recycled Art is a wonderful opportunity to explore Okotoks’ beautiful downtown core while seeing some innovative works of art tucked into all sorts of forgotten spaces. On this free guided walking tour, you will enjoy a look at each of the projects on display. Meet at Okotoks Art Gallery. okotoks.ca 

 
There will be an evening market at the Millarville General Store on Friday, July 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. The market will feature live bluegrass music by the Lost Prospectors and vendors with all sorts of local crafts, fruit and produce. Hot dogs and lemonade will be available. 

 

Nooks & Crannies Festival: Family Tour will be held on Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. The Nooks & Crannies Festival of Recycled Art is a wonderful opportunity to explore Okotoks’ beautiful downtown core while seeing some innovative works of art tucked into all sorts of forgotten spaces. The Town of Okotoks is hosting a Seed, Garden and Clothing Swap on Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Environmental Education Centre. Drop-off runs from 10 a.m. to noon with the swap taking place from noon to 4 p.m. okotoks.ca

Three tour times are available: 9, 9:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets are required in advance for this event. Tours start at the Okotoks Museum, 49 North Railway St. okotoks.ca

Thursday Nights @ the Plaza presents '80s Night on Thursday, Aug. 10. The Billionaires will perform a free, family-friendly concert from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Olde Towne Plaza (50 McRae St.). okotoks.ca

The Games We Play – A History of Sport in Okotoks will be on view at the Okotoks Museum until Dec. 22. Opened to coincide with the 2023 Alberta Summer Games co-hosted by Okotoks and Diamond Valley, the exhibit details how sports have always played an integral part in the town’s history. okotoks.ca

The Okotoks Museum and Archives has an exhibit commemorating the 150th anniversary of the NWMP/RCMP on display until Sept. 2. The exhibit not only marks a major milestone in Canadian history, but also explores the community’s policing history. okotoks.ca    

    

Foothills Writers Group (formerly the Indie Author Group Okotoks) meets every third Thursday at the Okotoks Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m. The group is a community of local authors whose goal is to encourage and support writers during their creative journey. The Okotoks Chess Club meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Okotoks Public Library.
