A Stuffy Sleepover will be held at the Okotoks Public Library on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Bring your most adventurous stuffy to the library and join in a special evening Story Time. Storytime in the Attic will be held at the Okotoks Museum and Archives on the first Saturday of the month from 10 to 11 a.m. Storytellers will read themed books that spark imagination and curiosity before guiding children through a themed craft. Sheep River Library is hosting a Lego competition on Saturday, Feb. 1. There are two age divisions: 5-9 and 10+. The theme of the competition is “Scenes and Machines.” Rules and prizes can be found at sheepriverlibrary.ca. 

 

A free concert by MizBehavin and The Rum Runners in support of the Okotoks Food Bank will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at Okotoks United Church. A relaxed and fun evening of music will include several different styles, from jazz to country to rock. Donations to the food bank (food or cash) gratefully accepted.

Foothills Writers Group meets on the third Thursday of the month at the Okotoks Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m. The group is a community of local authors whose goal is to encourage and support writers during their creative journey. You can record, edit and upload your own podcasts at the Sheep River Library in Diamond Valley in its soundproofed recording space. Equipment and training are provided so you can get your podcasts out into the world. An ELL (English Language Learning) class is held every Thursday from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. at the Okotoks Public Library. The Okotoks Chess Club meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Okotoks Public Library.
