Frost advisory in place for Okotoks tonight

Temperatures in the Foothills are expected to hit the freezing mark overnight so Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory.

There will be a chill in the air around Okotoks tonight.

Tonight’s low is 0C in Okotoks and frost is expected, the agency said. 

Warmer weather returns on Saturday and Sunday with highs of 17C and  22C, respectively, and lows well above zero. 

Sunday is the first day of fall, but it will feel summer-like, with temperatures approaching 30C early next week. 

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
