Okotoks' Holy Trinity Academy held its commencement ceremony on Thursday, June 27 at St. James Church.

Valedictorian Jonah Janzen and salutatorian Katherine Jerrom gave speeches during the midday ceremony, graduating with 99.45 and 97.18 per cent Grade 12 averages, respectively.

Commencement speeches were given by Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools superintendent Andrea Holowka, board of trustees vice-chair Andrew Gustafson, HTA principal Diana Atkinson and citizen's representative of the Rocky View Métis District of the Métis Nation of Alberta Lisa San Filippo, while Highwood MLA RJ Sigurdson and Foothills MP John Barlow were recognized for sending congratulatory messages to the graduates.

San Filippo, alongside Const. Derrick Campbell of the Calgary Police Service and Government of Alberta Hate Crimes Unit, presented sashes to the school's six Métis graduates: Logan Anderson, Eric Hartman, Ava Helm, Ella Klyne, Shayna Lundstrom and Amelie VanMeenen.

The ceremony was held on the same day as Oilfields High School's commencement in Diamond Valley.
