You’ve still got time for a good scare!
There are a couple of haunted houses – one new and the other a long-time favourite – that will be putting the fright in Halloween for brave souls in the Foothills.
They both run tonight and tomorrow night.
Nightmare in the Campground by Nightmare Creations has brought three terrifying tours — The Stabbin Cabin, The Asylum and The CarnEvil — to Okotoks Lions Campground this year.
Hours are from 7 to 10 p.m., although from 4 to 6 p.m. there are sessions without flashing lights or loud noises for kids and those with sensory needs.
Tickets are $25 per person, with group rates at $80 for four or 10 for $220. Each ticket includes admission to the three haunted houses.
Twenty per cent of all profits will support the Okotoks Lions Club's mission to provide service dogs to those with disabilities.
Get tickets on Eventbrite, HauntPay or at the door.
The Spook House at the Turner Valley Legion is putting a scary spin on four children’s stories: the Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland and Little Red Riding Hood.
The doors open at 6 p.m. each night and the first hour is “no scare,” where people can go through the haunted display with the lights on and no actors in the basement.
After the no-scare hour, the scare can be dialed back, or cranked up, depending on the guests.
Admission is $10 for 12 and up or $5 for kids under 12. There is a concession, bar and kitchen service.
The Spook House is open until 9 p.m.
The Legion has put the Spook House on for over a decade and it acts as a fundraiser for annual kids’ functions like Christmas or Easter parties and Halloween dances.
