Okotoks has cracked the Globe and Mail's 2023 top 100 most livable cities in Canada list.

The list, one of seven published by the Globe in November, was put together by journalists Mahima Singh and Chen Wang with data collected by Environics Analytics Group and the company's “third-party licensors.”

Overall, Okotoks earned the title of 65th most livable city in Canada. Victoria and North Vancouver, B.C. took the top two spots, followed by Winnipeg, Regina and Burlington, Ont.

On the provincial level, Okotoks ranked ninth most livable city overall, trailing bigger centres like Calgary, Lethbridge and St. Albert.

Okotoks came in ahead of Lacombe and Cochrane, which placed 10th and 11th, respectively.

The data taken into consideration for the most livable cities list, according to the Globe's reporting, includes factors such as the local economy, housing, climate, amenities and more.

The Globe ranked 439 cities across Canada with a population of more than 10,000, and its interactive reporting allows readers to select specific features, such as access to amenities or housing affordability, to create personalized rankings.
