Okotoks is kicking off Fire Prevention Week with an open house this weekend.
The open house will be held on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Fire Station 1 on Milligan Drive.
Fire Prevention Week runs from Oct. 6 to 12.
Open to the whole family, the open house will allow visitors to check out Okotoks Fire & Rescue trucks and equipment, meet the crew, test your firefighter skills and learn about fire prevention and safety firsthand from local first responders.
The theme of this year's Fire Prevention Week is 'Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!' It’s an opportunity to make sure your home is protected by testing smoke alarms, replacing them when they no longer respond to tests or when they reach 10 years of age.
