A 19-year-old resident of Okotoks is facing a host of drug trafficking charges following a vehicle search last week.
In the early morning hours of Dec. 12, Okotoks RCMP were patrolling the town and located a male sleeping in his running vehicle at a gas station, as per an RCMP press release issued on Tuesday afternoon.
During the course of the investigation, the vehicle was searched, and as a result, the following was located: 105 grams of methamphetamine; 50 grams of MDMA, 40 tablets of LSD, 150 grams of improperly packaged cannabis products, $445 cash and scales along with a prohibited extendable baton, canisters of bear spray and a pellet gun.
The driver of the vehicle, Preston Desjardin, 19, has been charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
Desjardin is scheduled to appear at Alberta Court of Justice in Okotoks on Feb. 2, 2024.
