UPDATE: Fortis said that power has been restored to all affected customers in an update at 12:09 p.m.
An unplanned power outage has dimmed the lights for some electricity users in Okotoks and Foothills County.
Fortis reported two outages in the area at about 10:20 a.m. on Nov. 7.
They say crews are responding and estimates said power will be back on by 1 p.m
One outage is affecting nearly 2,500 customers north of the Sheep River in Okotoks.
The other outage is affecting about 215 customers north and east of the town in Foothills County.
Both outages are classified as unplanned and there is no word on the cause.
At about 11 a.m., a small grass fire was reported near an electrical transformer on 338 Avenue near 32 Street. Okotoks Fire and Rescue responded and put out the fire, and said there appeared to be no obvious connection between the fire and the power outage.
