The High River Stetsons 4-H Club offers a great horse program where younger members find supportive mentors.

4-H offers numerous opportunities for youth to grow in their personal development. Through its programs, members can improve their leadership, communication and decision-making skills, which are valuable both in their personal and academic lives.

4-H grows experiential learning through hands-on activities, projects and events. Whether it's raising animals, gardening or participating in community service projects, members “learn by doing,” which is the 4-H motto.

Being part of 4-H provides opportunities to engage with the community, like the High River Stetsons group did by serving turkey dinner in the Meadowbank Hall. Through service projects and events, members learn the importance of giving back and making a positive impact on society.

Some groups offer canine training or archery, but we are lucky, the High River Stetsons offer such a great horse program.

4-H provides a supportive network of peers, volunteers and mentors. The younger members are mentored by the older members and often anyone who needs help with their horse can ask one of the other members or parents. Members can connect with like-minded horse lovers, forming friendships that can benefit them throughout their lives.

Participation in 4-H can help individuals develop skills and experiences that are relevant to future career paths. Whether it's learning about horse clinics, public speaking or horse management, these skills can be valuable in a wide range of professions.

Through various activities such as presenting projects, and participating in horse shows, 4-H helps build confidence and self-esteem in its members. Successes and failures alike are celebrated as learning opportunities.

Many 4-H programs offer opportunities for youth to take on leadership roles; whether it's serving on committees, organizing events or mentoring younger members. These experiences help develop leadership skills and prepare youth for future roles as responsible citizens and leaders in their communities.

Overall, 4-H offers a unique blend of education, leadership development and community engagement that can have a profound and lasting impact on the lives of its members. This is why you should join the High River Stetsons.
