The Trade and Lifestyle Show returns once again to the Okotoks Recreation Centre for a packed two-day experience for customers and businesses alike.

From local to non-profit businesses to big businesses, there will be over 140 vendors set up for the duration of the show.

“There are vendors coming as far away as Saskatchewan to display this year,” said Andrew Gustafson, the vice president of the Okotoks Chamber of Commerce. “It’s the place to be that weekend in this community.”

The huge variety of vendors ranges from computer repair, health practitioners, home repair, restaurants, political parties and local sports teams.

“From a vendor’s perspective it’s good to know your customers,” Gustafson said.

A new feature to this year’s show is the babysitting service being provided by KinderCare at the recreation centre free of charge to attendees.

Parents can drop-off their children at the service for up to an hour and a half while browsing the vendors on the show floor.

As of last week, there were four spots left for this year’s show, but Gustafson thinks they won’t last long.

“I’m sure by the end of the week they’ll be gone,” he said on April 8.

Gustafson says that the show is always a great way for local businesses to take advantage of the event and find new customers.

Jane Cyr, the owner of the Brown Sugar Bake Shop in Okotoks, will be returning for a third year at the show.

“I think it’s good advertising and you get to meet a lot of people,” she said. “It’s nice to get out there with other businesses.”

Cyr says that their booth will be displaying their catalog of custom cakes as well as other services while providing free cookies in both normal and gluten free versions.

The 2015 Trade and Lifestyle Show is set to open on April 17 at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again on April 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Okotoks Recreation Centre with free admission.
