A proverbial four-point game swung in the Bisons direction as the division race heats up.

The Carstar Okotoks Bisons (25-3-1) bested the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings 4-1 Saturday in Strathmore to earn a four-point cushion atop the Heritage Junior Hockey League South Division standings and extend their winning streak to 13 games.

Looking to avoid the scenario of a tie for tops in the South, the visitors led throughout with offence from the defence pacing the attack.

Blueliners Hunter Cobb and Caden Scott found the back of the net with Sam Callahan adding his team leading 22nd tally and captain Jake Snashall adding his third goal in two games to see out the result.

Rookie goalie Connor White made 26 saves for his 16th win in 17 starts.

On Friday, Okotoks continued its roll on home ice with its tenth straight home victory by a 4-3 score over the Red Deer Vipers.

Snashall scored twice, the latter a game winning shorthanded marker in the third period, with Adam Kirkpatrick and Jakob Semeniuk also lighting the lamp at the Murray Arena.

Blueliner Avery Greig chipped in with two helpers, finishing as one of three multi-point performers on the night in addition to Snashall and Kirkpatrick.

Okotoks and Sylvan Lake lead their respective divisions at 51 points with identical records.

This week, Okotoks is home to the Cannex Cochrane Generals on Friday, Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. and head east for a Jan. 19 battle with the Medicine Hat Cubs.
