Okotoks United’s flagship soccer tournament continues to grow

Anthem United Communities Cup to feature a third weekend

The global game continues to grow in Okotoks.

The ninth annual Anthem United Communities Cup has been expanded to a third weekend of games as Okotoks United’s flagship competition meets a growing demand with 138 soccer teams set to compete over the month at the Cavalry FC Regional Field House.

The first weekend, Jan. 10-12, features 48 girls squads in eight divisions spread over five age groups. Okotoks will field teams in the U15 futsal, U12 Tier 3 boardless and U11 Tier 2 boardless.

The second weekend, Jan. 17-19, has 56 boys teams in nine divisions at the field house.

Seven Okotoks United teams will take to the pitch, three in futsal and four in boardless.

The final weekend of the event, Jan. 24-26, is the recreational part of the competition featuring 34 boys and girls teams in seven divisions. Okotoks will have seven teams involved.
