Logan Grant had a monster series for the Okotoks Dawgs in the two-game set with the Medicine Hat Mavericks.

The rematch of the WCBL championship series had a playoff like finish in Okotoks.

The Okotoks Dawgs and Medicine Hat Mavericks locked horns for a two-game set at Seaman Stadium for the first time since the league finals last summer with each team earning a win, punctuated by the Dawgs’ 6-5 triumph Saturday night in 12 innings.

Connor Crowson delivered the walk-off knock on a bases loaded single to right field to end the seesaw contest in dramatic fashion.

Lou Anderson, Dawson Santana, Spencer Sullivan and Logan Grant all drove in a run.

Trent Warstler picked up the victory out of the bullpen with seven pitchers contributing to the triumph in front of 5,176 supporters at Seaman Stadium.

The Mavericks took the front end of the two-game set by a 9-8 score on Friday.

Brendan Luther hit his second home run of the season with Barry Eiseman driving in two runs and Grant registering four hits and three runs in the loss.

Okotoks (19-4) opens a two-game set with the Swift Current 57’s on Sunday afternoon, a 2 p.m. start, followed by the annual Canada Day Game on July 1 at 7 p.m.

The Dawgs boast a 1.5 game lead on the Sylvan Lake Gulls for top spot in the West Division.
