The Okotoks Oilers will face off against the BCHL Alberta Division and Rocky Mountain Challenge champion Brooks Bandits six times during the 2024-25 regular season.

The Okotoks Oilers have released their 2024-25 schedule, their first full season in the B.C. Hockey League.

The Junior A club will play 52 regular season games (26 home, 26 road) beginning with a home-and-home set against Brooks on Sept. 20 and 21. The Bandits defeated the Oilers in seven games in the 2024 BCHL Alberta Division semifinals.

The Oilers will play in the BCHL’s Interior East Division along with Brooks, Blackfalds Bulldogs, Sherwood Park Crusaders and Spruce Grove Saints, all former Alberta Junior Hockey League clubs who joined the BCHL midway through last season. The Cranbrook Bucks are also in the division.

The Oilers will play most division foes six times during the regular season.

The Oilers will also see a lot of Interior West Division teams, playing West Kelowna, Vernon, Salmon Arm and Trail four times and Penticton three times.

They will play most Coastal East Division teams once and won’t interlock at all with the Coastal West Division, which is primarily based on Vancouver Island.

In addition to six games against the BCHL Alberta Division and Rocky Mountain Challenge champion Brooks Bandits, other prominent dates on the schedule include the Oilers’ first-ever game against a B.C.-based opponent when they take on Cranbrook at Western Financial Place on Sept. 27.

The 2024 BCHL champion Surrey Eagles will visit Okotoks on Nov. 30 for their lone matchup against the Oilers in the regular season. The Oilers will take on the BCHL finalist Penticton Vees, captained by former Oiler Conyr Hellyer, at home on March 22 and on the road on Oct. 4 and Dec. 29.

Between Feb. 8-21 and March 15-29, the Oilers will play season-long, four-game homestands.

The team will conclude its regular season on March 30 with a road game against the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

The Oilers, who play out of Okotoks Centennial Arenas, will mark 20 years as a franchise with the 2024-25 season.

Season tickets are now on sale with early bird prices frozen from last year. If you purchase before the early bird deadline of July 20, you'll get the first two home playoff games added in.
