62 years, and by his son Keith.

In 2014 Ed and Theresa Patterson married, they had five happy years together,
with Theresa passing away in 2020.

Ed was born in Calgary, Alberta to John and Amy Poffenroth, the middle of seven
children. He grew up west of DeWinton, attended Alexandra School through
Grade eight, and always wanted to learn more, a life long learner.
He married Mary Bishop in July 1945, they lived in the Red Deer Lake area
before moving to the Crystal Lake Community of Okotoks in 2005.

During those farming years, he worked hard, bought more land, ventured into
business partnerships, a dry cleaning business, a ranch in BC, a meat processing
plant, among others. He joined community service boards, 4-H Club leader,
served as Councillor and Reeve for the County of Foothills for over ten years,
helped with the relocation of Red Deer Lake United Church, the re-organization
of the Okotoks and District Senior’s Club, and the building of the Foothills
Centennial Centre.

Ed and Mary enjoyed travelling to many wonderful world wide destinations.
Moving to Okotoks in 2005, Ed continued his love of friends, neighbors and
community service.

Always a lover of baseball, from his early school years, he was proud to help
bring the Dawgs to Okotoks, and watch the young fans run the bases with
Diggity at Okotoks Dawgs games.

Ed’s family would like to extend special thanks to Claire Mallet and the many
exceptional caregivers at Okotoks Health and Wellness Home Care program.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to Sheep River
Health Trust 11 Cimarron Common, Okotoks, AB T1S 2G1. A Celebration of
Life will be held on Saturday December 7th 1pm to 4pm at Sirocco Golf Club,
210178 - 64th Street West, Foothills, AB.
