May 31, 1961 – November 25, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Ralph
Dodds on November 25, 2024, at Southwood Care Center in Calgary,
Alberta, surrounded by his loving family. At 63 years old, Ken leaves
behind a legacy of faith, strength, and dedication.
Born on May 31, 1961, he was raised in Iona Station, Ontario. Ken is
survived by his beloved wife, Belinda Dodds; his son, Riley Dodds; his
stepchildren; Matthew Scheuerman; Christopher Scheuerman and Kara
Francisco, and his grandchild Kylan, who brought him endless joy; his
brother Keith and Sue Dodds; his sister Wendy and Phil Hayhoe; and
many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Ralph and
Ruth Dodds; his sister Eunice and her husband Dale Fowler; and his
nephew Kyle Hayhoe.
Those who knew Ken will forever cherish his unwavering loyalty, quick
humor, and the quiet strength rooted in his deep faith. He was the owner of
Dodsy’s Excavating Ltd., specializing in land development and infrastructure
services. A cowboy at heart, Ken poured his passion into KB Ranch, where
he raised cattle and harvested crops. Whether working with his hands,
caring for his animals, or spending quality time with loved ones, Ken’s
love for the outdoors and his incredible community of family and friends
was at the center of everything he did.
Ken has hung up his cowboy hat, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of
all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at
1:00 pm at the Okotoks Evangelical Free Church. Friends, family,
and neighbors are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the life of
a man who left an indelible mark on all he met.
