It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Larsen on August 3, 2024.

Henry dedicated his life to the Larsen family property, located northeast of Okotoks, Alberta.

His parents, Otto and Ivy Larsen, settled on the farm in the 1930s, and Henry, along with his brothers, attended school in Okotoks. As an adult, Henry took on the responsibility of farming the land and maintaining the family homestead.

In the 1990s, Henry found his life-long partner, Mae Heater. Together, they managed the farm, shared a love for auction sales, gardening, visiting neighbours, and raising exotic animals. Due to health reasons, they sold their beloved farm in 2015 and moved to the Okotoks Heartland Retirement Home.

Henry is survived by his brother Chris (Michelle) Larsen of Tisdale, SK; his nephew Murray (Jill) Larsen of Calgary, AB; and Les and Evelyn Free of Sundre, AB.

His life was enriched by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he lovingly embraced as his own, finding immense joy in their presence. Henry was predeceased by his parents, Otto and Ivy Larsen; his brothers, Douglas and John Larsen; and his dear partner Mae Heater.

Henry will be remembered for his dedication to family, his love of the land, and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.
