Robert (Bob) Eugene Lee, passed away peacefully with his wife Denise
at his side after a long battle with cancer on September 29, 2024. Born
on May 23, 1952, the youngest of 8 children, Bob was tough as nails
yet a friend to all.
Bob had a lifelong career in the oil and gas industry starting at the age
of 15. His dedication and hard work saw him grow and excel through
various roles, starting as a roughneck and working his way to Wellsite
Supervisor and on to Manager of Completions at Renaissance Energy.
He enjoyed multiple years at Engineering firms in Calgary concluding
his career in sales. After leaving the oil and gas sector, Bob worked at
D’arcy Ranch Golf Course, which was one of his favorite places to be.
An avid golfer, Bob spent many decades enjoying the greens,
accompanied by family, friends, and colleagues. He was also very
passionate about hockey, a game he played growing up and continued
to enjoy as a spectator.
Bob grew up in Saskatchewan and attended school in a one-room
school in Carmichael, Saskatchewan.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Denise Lee, and their three
children: Deana Lee (Steven Andersen), Robbie Lee (Cynthia Lee), and
Janessa McNeely (Dillon McNeely). He was a proud grandfather to six
grandchildren: Fern, Orion, Jax, Scott, Kiera, and Annika. His life was
also enriched by his sisters, Rita and Diane Wells, sister-in-law Jo-Anne
Roney, and brother-in-law Bill Scott (Linda Scott), along with numerous
nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his
parents, Nellie and Richard Lee, his brothers Jack and Dickie, his sisters
Margaret, Mary-Anne, and Virginia and his brother-in-law Milt Roney.
A funeral service to honor Bob’s life will be held at St. Peters Anglican
Church, located at 31 Riverside Way in Okotoks, on Saturday, October
5, 2024, at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to
Foothills Country Hospice or the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic.
The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude and appreciation
to the various physicians, specialists, nurses and care givers who cared
for Bob.
