So why don’t they hire full time nurses and quit wasting tax dollars on temporary nurses?

Does Mark Carney as Liberal leader change your voting intention?

I would not vote Conservative if they were the last party on earth. They are destroying our education system and health care. Won’t vote Liberal either. We’ll see who else is out there.

What a waste of taxpayer dollars. Council needs to move on to actual, important matters. Most people forgot about all this months ago. I refuse to rename the area I live in or my address. I live in Grandin and will until I leave this earth.

Our present Alberta government sees seniors as dispensable. They constantly provide substandard care to seniors both in and out of facilities. They tell you to keep your parents at home and care for them and you will have every resource available and then provide little information, support or transparency. Their idea of adequate home care is 2 or 3 RNs per district and no doctors just a few overworked NPs. In long term care many nurses and doctors refuse to give the care requested by family members who are executors for medical care. It’s terrible how many suffer pain and indignity because of this.
Caring for a parent at home (I cared for both of mine) with minimal support from our UCP Government was traumatic and horrific. The end result is I now suffer from PTSD, anxiety and high blood pressure. They offer no help during the process and none after their deaths. It’s heartbreaking and disgusting.

Danielle Smith’s proposed legislation, if passed, will make her and the UCP guilty of Negligent Homicide. “ Negligent homicide, also known as criminally negligent homicide, is a criminal charge that occurs when a person's careless or negligent behavior results in the death of another person”. It has been proven that taking away these supports for children exponentially increases the number of suicides. How do the sleep at night?

Our food prices have risen to unacceptable levels. I am lucky to be able to afford fresh fruit and vegetables, but what about those at or below the poverty line? Children whose bodies are developing are the ones that will suffer the most in the long run. What will it take for our government to do something about rising food and lodging costs?

The St. Albert Public School board needs to reverse its decision immediately and apologize for the harm that they have done. I can’t even imagine what lead them to this ridiculous and cruel decision. Sharing grief is one of the steps towards healing. To suggest that our children shouldn’t be exposed to grief is irresponsible, and sets a dangerous example for future decisions about our children and their futures in the St. Albert Public School system. Quite frankly, the St. Albert Public School Board is not in a position to be deciding on these life changing events. Are they qualified to make such decisions? I think not!
