GALLERY: Santa and his reindeer spread joy at Millarville Market

The eight-day market returns to the Millarville Racetrack grounds Nov. 14 to 17.

The Millarville Christmas Market has made its long-awaited return.

Established in 1988, the Millarville Christmas Market at the Millarville Racetrack grounds is one of the premier craft and artisan shows in Alberta.

Hundreds of new and returning seasonal vendors are exhibiting in indoor and outdoor areas over eight days along with food trucks, music, photos with Santa, face painting and more. There’s reindeer viewing daily as well as hay rides and a Kids Only Shoppe on weekends.

The Kids Only Shoppe is a special place for children five to 12 years old to select Christmas gifts for their family members with shopping assistance from Mrs. Claus and her elves. All items are $15 or less, with 80 per cent of the items handcrafted locally or donated by local vendors of the Millarville Farmers’ Market. Profits from the Shoppe are distributed between six local schools within the Foothills School Division to assist with their hot lunch programs.

Remaining dates for 2024 are Nov. 14 to 17. The market is open on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets are $7.50 plus GST (12 and under free) and tickets must be purchased in advance.

For more information and tickets, visit the Millarville Racetrack website.
