Firefighters’ food drive begins tonight in Diamond Valley

Diamond Valley Fire Rescue

Firefighters in Diamond Valley will be going door-to-door tonight and tomorrow night in support of the Oilfields Food Bank.

Firefighters will be collecting food and other donations in the annual Firefighter Community Food Drive.

Firefighters will go through Turner Valley and Longview on Nov. 18, and Black Diamond on Nov. 19, from about 6 to 9 p.m. both nights.

People who won’t be home can leave donations in a box or bag at their front door.

Condiments, baking supplies, spices, cookies, tinned fruit and meat, and personal care items are needed, the food bank said.

Small, unopened items like bubble bath, soap, socks or stocking stuffers can also be donated for the food bank's Last-Minute Gift Table.

Cash or cheques are also accepted, and cheques can be made out to Oilfields Food Bank.

A complete list of items the food bank needs is available at oilfieldsfoodbank.com
