A spooky tradition in Diamond Valley returns for another year beginning tonight.

The Spook House at the Turner Valley Legion runs for five nights, including Halloween. It will be open from Oct. 24 to 26, and on Oct. 30 and 31.

This year, guests can expect a scary spin on the Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland and Little Red Riding Hood

The doors open at 6 p.m. each night and the first hour is “no scare,” where people can go through the haunted display with the lights on and no actors in the basement.

After the no-scare hour, the scare can be dialed back, or cranked up, depending on the guests.

Admission is $10 for 12 and up or $5 for kids under 12. There is a concession, bar and kitchen service.

The Spook House is open until 9 p.m. on weeknights and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The Legion has put the Spook House on for over a decade. A fundraiser, the Spook House raises money for annual kids’ functions like Christmas or Easter parties and Halloween dances.
