A motorhome was destroyed by fire in Longview on May 26, but the flames were put out by firefighters before they could spread.
Fire crews responded to reports that an RV was fully engulfed in flames near the Twin Cities Saloon on Morrison Road at about 2 p.m.
Diamond Valley Station 3 firefighter James Olien said it appeared the fire originated in the engine compartment of a car being towed by the motorhome, and it spread from there to the motorhome.
Before fire crews arrived, reports indicated that bystanders were attempting to extinguish the flames.
At the time of vehicle fire, fire crews were on route to a small grassfire west of Millarville, and multiple units were able to divert to attend the scene in Longview.
As of 3:15 p.m. Highway 22 was closed through much of Longview as the scene is cleared up. It was expected to reopen shortly.
