Korean fried chicken franchise comes to Okotoks

Alberta's newest Chicko Chicken location has opened on Elizabeth Street in Olde Towne Okotoks.

A familiar name in Korean cuisine has come to Olde Towne.

Chicko Chicken, which has seven locations in Alberta, opened its newest location in Okotoks last month.

The restaurant is run by Dayeon Ha and her husband Minki Kim, who managed two Chicko Chicken locations in Calgary before deciding to open his own location in Okotoks.

The menu features everything from made-to-order Korean classics like kuldak, yangyeom and extra spicy haek buldak to fusion meals like herb and garlic.

Chicko Chicken Okotoks is located at 50 Elizabeth St.

Outside of Okotoks, Chicko Chicken has locations in Calgary (three), Edmonton, Leduc and Grand Prairie, as well as 27 in B.C. and one in Bellevue, Wash.
