A local shopping centre will be holding a grand opening celebration this weekend.
D'Arcy Crossing, which opened last year, will be celebrating its tenants and the community on Saturday, June 8 from noon to 4 p.m.
All-ages activities will be at the event, including balloon art, face painting and an ice cream truck.
Safeway and Shoppers Drug Mart are the anchor tenants of the 150,000-square-foot shopping centre, with other familiar brands including Dollarama, Popeyes and Firehouse Subs, which opened its first Alberta location at D'Arcy Crossing last year.
Denim & Smith Barbershop, a well-established Calgary barbershop franchise, will be celebrating its Okotoks location at D'arcy Crossing with company founder and CEO Mike McIntosh, who was born in DeWinton and went to school in Okotoks.
D'Arcy Crossing continues to add tenants with Morning Brunch Co., New York Pizzeria and Kenko Sushi all scheduled to open along High Street at the north end of the plaza.
The opening festivities will be near the Safeway parking lot at D'Arcy Crossing.
