Olde Towne Okotoks was a fantasy fan’s paradise this weekend.
Enchanted Okotoks took adventurers on an epic quest as they got to solve puzzles, complete missions, slay monsters and more through virtual and in-person gameplay on Sept. 14 and 15.
"It's a web app, all on a website called Earth MMO,” explained event organizer Katie Fournell, referring to the Calgary-based platform as a blend between the fantastical world of Dungeons & Dragons and the augmented reality gameplay of Pokémon Go.
NPC’s, a gaming term that stands for “non-player characters,” were played by real-life actors throughout downtown Okotoks and interacted with players as they made their way through the game's quests.
