The 34th annual Rotary Club of Okotoks Soapbox Derby was held on June 1.

Some unique vehicles made their way down Crystal Ridge Drive for the 34th annual Rotary Club of Okotoks Soapbox Derby on June 1.

One-hundred racers registered for the derby, with costumes and cars based on Star Wars, Pac-ManThe Legend of Zelda and many more pop culture staples.

This year's derby was won by Viana Poulin, who raced down the track in just over 31 seconds and was clocked at a whopping 53 kilometres per hour.

The Rotary Club of Okotoks is involved in many community programs and projects, such as its many youth leadership opportunities and the upcoming construction of a wheelchair-accessible swing set at Bill Robertson Park this summer.
