GALLERY: The Relics light up sold out Okotoks crowd in debut show

Southern Alberta band The Relics performs timeless James Taylor, Canadian folk classics at Rotary Performing Arts Centre.

Classic folk favourites were highlighted in a stirring debut performance in Okotoks this weekend.

The Relics — a four-piece band featuring vocalist/guitarist Jim Reader, Doc Mehl on cello and vocals, Neil Henry on keyboards and Doug Paddock on drums/percussion — hit the Rotary Performing Arts Centre stage on April 20 with their renditions of James Taylor's music along with a selection of tunes from Canada's rich tapestry of folk artists.

The set list included Taylor concert classics 'Carolina in My Mind', 'You've Got A Friend' and 'Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight' to Ian Tyson's 'Someday Soon', Gordon Lightfoot's 'Carefree Highway' and Neil Young's classic 'Harvest Moon.'
