Elizabeth Street in Olde Towne Okotoks is sure to be an aromatic place this afternoon.
Chilifest & BBQ Showdown takes place from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., or until the food runs out.
This is the 21st year the annual chili cookoff will be held, but it is the first time there is a barbecue category.
Attendees can sample entries and vote for their favourites. Tasting passports will be sold in front of the Elks Hall.
Hosted in partnership between the Town of Okotoks, the Elks Club, the Okotoks Legion, the Okotoks Lions Club and the Kinsmen Club of Okotoks, all proceeds will go to the service clubs.
Besides sampling chili and barbecue, visitors can peruse the wares from over 65 vendors at the MarketSquare Artisan Street Market happening during the event.
