A fire broke out at Meadow Ridge School in Okotoks, but it was put out before firefighters arrived.
Okotoks Fire & Rescue responded to a fire alarm from the school at about 2 p.m. on Jan. 11.
Initial reports say the fire occurred in insulation inside a portable classroom.
Sara Fox, manager of communications at Foothills School Division, said there were no evacuations and there was no danger to students.
Fox said the fire was caused by a welding spark from a modular construction project at the scene.
Okotoks Fire & Rescue is on scene and investigating the cause of the fire.
