Community members got to meet animals up for adoption in Okotoks on the weekend.
A barbecue fundraiser was held by local charity Pound Rescue on Aug. 10, with volunteers introducing attendees to what could potentially be their future pets.
In addition to hosting the organization's team and animals for the event, Christine's No Frills donated $630 in pet food to the organization.
Seven dogs and five cats up for adoption were at the event. Among the animals was Fox, a dog recovered on the verge of death from a home with a human corpse on May 10.
Pound Rescue supports pets in numerous ways, including helping them reunite with their owners and caring for them through a network of foster homes prior to adoption.
The charity will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on Sept. 21.
