New childcare centre brings state-of-the-art curriculum to Okotoks

CEFA's sophisticated curriculum focuses on fine arts, social skills, STEM and more.

Core Education & Fine Arts (CEFA) Early Learning held a grand opening for its Okotoks location on Sept. 21.

According to CEFA, the private school offers Canada’s most sophisticated early-learning curriculum and is committed to fostering a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for all children.

The school's curriculum combines literacy, STEM, fine arts and mindfulness, encouraging youngsters to explore and grow through play, and is anchored in four pillars of child development: language, numbers, peer social skills and emotional control.

The school has a focus on lifelong learning and a curriculum that inspires curiosity, with programs catered to various stages of early childhood, from CEFA Baby to different levels of junior kindergarten.

Physical, emotional and social skills, alongside academics and arts, are critical to help youth lead happy and productive lives, said director Pierre Trepanier.

“Introduction to fine arts can help children develop early/emerging talent, plant the seeds of a lifelong love of arts, and grow communication skills that have an impact on lifetime learning and open up self-expression abilities,” he said.

CEFA, founded by Natacha Beim in 1998, has grown from a single location in West Vancouver to over 36 schools nationwide.

CEFA Okotoks is located at 10 D’Arcy Ranch Drive in the D'Arcy Crossing shopping plaza.
