Okotoks emergency crews respond to a house fire, in which one person was rescued after being trapped inside, on July 18.

Okotoks Fire & Rescue is still investigating a house fire last week that sent one occupant to hospital.

Fire Chief Trevor Brice said the department is still trying to piece a few things together in the wake of the fire at a home in Olde Towne on July 18.

Brice said the fire was primarily in the basement bedroom.

One person was reported as being trapped inside with smoke coming from the home on Maple Street.

When firefighters arrived on scene shortly after 2:30 p.m., they pulled one person from the house.

The occupant was transported to hospital in non-life-threatening condition, EMS said.

Firefighters said the fire was brought under control within about 15 minutes.
