Okotoks Shop of Wonders still looking for gifts for children

MyCityCare Okotoks is accepting toys or monetary donations for its Shop of Wonders, which will provide gifts for over 1,200 kids this year.

With a record number of registrations for its Shop of Wonders, MyCityCare Okotoks is still looking for donations to help families in need this Christmas.

Shop of Wonders provides gifts for children by offering parents a personal shopping appointment leading up to Christmas.

Director Lorna Jewer said more than 1,200 children have been registered this year.

The program is open to families that reside in the Foothills area. The deadline to register is Dec. 12, and the program ends on Dec. 17.

"To support these families, we are asking the community to continue supporting their neighbours through the donations of new, unwrapped toys or monetary donations." Jewer said.

Gifts can be dropped off at the following locations: Built Strong, F45, ATB, Yooneek Books, Complete Health, MCG Careers, Dynamic Physiotherapy, Okotoks Karate, Foothills Cleaners, Active Balance, MainStreet Market and More, Thrive Chiropractic, Brown Sugar Bake Shoppe, McFarlane Agencies, Alberta Dance Academy, Momentum Physical Therapy, Okotoks PreSchool Academy, Pure Envy Salon and Spa, CIR Realty, Emergency Services, Next Gen Daycare and Mark’s Okotoks.

MyCityCare operates across Western Canada and runs several programs in Okotoks to help families in need in the region.
