(Left to right) Okotoks Legion president Bob McLeod, poppy chair Nancy Tonn, Cathy Couey of the High River Health Care Foundation, poppy chair Fred Stegmeier, and High River Legion president Bob Collins were present on March 12 as two cheques for $14.912.50 were donated from each Legion to the High River Healthcare Foundation.
The funds will go towards a new bathing unit intended to help seniors and people with disabilities have a better quality of life during their stay at the High River Hospital.
"There are so many veterans and seniors in the Foothills area that are in Unit 200 of the High River Hospital," said Bob McLeod of the Okotoks Legion. "One of the things Okotoks and High River have in common is a lot of our residents, and in fact our members and relatives have stayed there at times.
"The Poppy Campaign is to support not just the Legion, but all of Okotoks and area."Brent Calver/OkotoksToday.ca
