Staff from the High River and Okotoks Shoppers Drug Mart locations gather with representatives from Rowan House Society at the Shoppers Drug Mart in High River on Dec. 5. Shoppers Drug Mart presented Rowan House with nearly $25,000 that was raised from fundraising efforts at the stores.
The Rowan House Society received a big chunk of cash from Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Okotoks and High River this week.

A campaign at the stores raised nearly $25,000 for the society, and the funds were presented to Rowan House at the High River location on Dec. 5.

Rowan House provides programs that address domestic abuse issues and operates an emergency shelter.

In total, $24,903 was raised in about a month and a half to support the organization.

Funds were raised in a few ways, including by donation at checkout, a silent auction and raffles.

Rowan House said it is thankful to local businesses and community members who supported the campaign, and that it raised 150 per cent more than last year.

Both Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Okotoks as well as the one in High River took part.
