North Railway Street traffic will be impacted from Jan. 27 to 29 due to tree removal at Pisttoo Park.

In preparation for upcoming construction on North Railway Street, tree removal is scheduled at Pisttoo Park (adjacent to the Okotoks Art Gallery) from Jan. 27 to 29, weather permitting.

During the removal work, drivers may experience traffic changes, delays and parking restrictions.

The Town of Okotoks is asking drivers to watch for flaggers, signage, crew, equipment and to use caution in the area.

As part of the downtown improvement project, approximately 42 new trees will be planted in the downtown area.

Construction work along Elizabeth, McRae and North Railway streets, from Northridge Drive to Poplar Avenue, is scheduled to begin this spring and continue into 2026.

Planned upgrades include replacing sewer and water lines, burying overhead power lines and changing the road design to improve traffic flow and safety.

There will also be upgrades to public spaces, including Triangle and Pisttoo parks, as well as sidewalk widening, updated lighting and additional seating areas.
