It is with great sadness that the family of
Charis Jean (Blakley) Cooper announce her
passing on March 14, 2025.
Charis was a free spirit, with her love of
horses from a young age. She garnered
many trophies and ribbons in the show-rings
across Southern Alberta and cherished
her great accomplishment of competing at
The Battle of the Breed at Spruce meadows
for many seasons.
She was a lady that had a strong connection
to the natural world, planting her garden
according to the phases of the moon spelled
out in the Farmer’s Almanac. Always the avid
rider, Charis would also saddle her horse in
the middle of the night.
Charis will be lovingly missed by
her family and friends.
