With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Linda Goss (née
Cruise), surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lachute, Quebec, to
John and Phylis Cruise, Linda spent her early years on the family farm.
She married in 1961 and was blessed with three children. In 1976, the
family relocated to Calgary, where she would later meet and marry the
love of her life, Emmett Goss, in 1981. Together, they made a home in the
foothills, where Linda lived for 45 years.
Linda will be deeply missed by her children, Kim, Peter (Jacky), and
her cherished grandchildren, Grant, Steven, Travis, Kaitlyn, Krista, and
Ryan, who will forever treasure the memories they created with her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Emmett, son Rick, and
granddaughter Brooke. Linda was also predeceased by her parents
Phyliss and John, her brothers Peter and Brent, and she is survived by
her sister Gloria, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was passionate about life, enjoying music, dancing, and especially
Waylon Jennings. She and Emmett loved attending rodeos and
watching chuckwagon races. Together, they travelled to Jamaica, took
their grandchildren to Disneyland, and spent many summers at Lake
Koocanusa with friends and winters in Yuma, Arizona, always enjoying
happy hour. Her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds; they will
miss her dearly.
A skilled cook, Linda was known for her delicious meals, and she brought
joy to many through her work in the kitchens of LRHS in Quebec and
Trinity Lodge in Calgary. Family and friends always enjoyed having a
meal at Linda’s home.
In honour of Linda’s spirit of generosity and kindness, donations to a
charity of your choice may be made instead of flowers at the family’s
request.
As she wishes, a private family celebration will be held in Linda’s memory.
