LETTER: Don’t make it difficult to die with dignity

A doctor within Alberta should be the only one that needs to agree the procedure should be done at the request of the patient.

Dear Editor,

Please consider dying with dignity to be included as a fair option for people who need this.

It should not have to go through the court system; a doctor within Alberta should be the only one that needs to agree the procedure should be done at the request of the patient involved or a POA if the patient has lost capacity and requested this in their wishes.

Unfortunately, both the UCP and Federal Conservatives oppose many aspects of MAID and the fundamental rights of people to responsibly choose their own paths. I wish you peace and tranquility in your journey home.
