Shopping locally came with an extra reward this holiday season.
Five shoppers won a combined $1,500 in gift cards in the Town of Okotoks’ Reindeer Games contest.
Held annually to encourage residents to shop locally, the contest concluded on Dec. 13 with three draws.
Ingrid Fikr and Sherrie Liedeman each won a $250 gift card for a local business of their choice, while Laine Mackay won the grand prize, a $500 gift card from local businesses.
Earlier in the contest, Stephanie Stefan and Jacey Hamon won $250 gift cards.
During the contest period, Nov. 22 to Dec. 13, shoppers submitted receipts to be entered into draws. All receipts from Okotoks businesses qualified, including retail, restaurants, services, memberships and online purchases. There was a minimum purchase amount of $10.
There was no limit to the number of entries per person, provided each entry was supported by a unique proof of purchase.
